Southwest Museum Services’ innovative re-envisioning of the Starship Gallery inside Space Center Houston incorporates a series of monumental forms that imply dynamic speed and movement. Strategically placed within the gallery space as visual and interpretive anchors amid a variety of luminescent artifact pedestals and casework, the new design features horizontal bands of backlit graphic elements and glowing object vitrines. Integrated with the existing large scale artifacts in the museum’s collection, these components present a dramatic timeline of milestones and events associated with the nation’s space program.
