Coit Museum of Pharmacy & Health Services
University of Arizona

The History of Pharmacy Museum at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy houses one of the world’s largest collections of artifacts, photos and exhibits dedicated to the history of pharmacy. The collection of about 100,000 objects includes the Upjohn bottle collection that was displayed at the Upjohn Pharmacy on Main Street, Disneyland, California in the 1950's and 60's. Southwest designed, fabricated and installed back-lit niche cases to dramatically display this collection - and much more. Visitors can walk through the doors of a replica facade of the Upjohn Pharmacy to see more objects displayed in the richly textured context of reproduction classic pharmacy cabinetry. The museum also features a video tower and other multimedia interactives so that the visitors see pharmaceuticals from many perspectives: history, science, popular culture, and even art.
