Historic Arkansas Museum

The Historic Arkansas Museum has actual early 19th century homes on the outdoor grounds. The centerpiece of the newly revisioned Children’s Gallery is a two-thirds scale period house facade and interior play area featuring many hands-on interactive features for curious kids. There is a working rim lock on the front door, a working window with rat tail shutter dogs and even an interactive fire place; the fire size responds to pumping the adjacent bellows. A Puppet Theater Tree, Art Wall, Pie Safe, Dress-Up Chest, Plush Garden and many other details make this gallery a significantly enhanced attraction for the museum.
