Cafe Texan Museum & Library
Huntsville, TX

In 2020 Vance Howard, a former Huntsville Council member, Mayor Pro-Tem and owner of Howard Capital Management bought the building and rebuilt it into The Café Texan Museum & Library.

Southwest Museum Services was hired to bring Mr. Howard’s vision to life. Working with him and his team, SMS designed and fabricated circular cases to house his collection of letters from former U.S. Presidents and various custom shaped cases to house his collections of antiquities and artifacts from all over the globe.

You will find 16th century Japanese armor, the 31 star flag that flew over Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 Presidential campaign, Egyptian artifacts and even Napoleon Bonaparte’s pistol. View pre-civil war weapons and hand carved powder horns. See Navy Seal Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell’s combat
uniform displayed with his brother Morgan’s uniform. Learn about the life of Teddy Roosevelt in the Wild West or examine ancient tools and rituals of early Egyptian civilizations and read letters from former U.S. Presidents or admire the intricate craftsmanship of Samurai swords and ancient Japanese warrior armour.
